Some not so related random thoughts:

1) Christmas blows. Well actually there's nothing particularly wrong with the holiday but seriously every year it seems like something bad happens right around this time. I take full blame for launching the bad luck by ruining Christmas 2000. Aside from that, the shittiness factor is totally out of my control.

2) Went to go watch my Dad receive the Order of Portugal last night. It was held in the tiny offices of the Portuguese consulate. Apparently it's a big deal. There were all these random Portuguese people there who thought it a good idea to lodge their robust bodies between my father and me. Needless to say, it was annoying that I wasn't able to stand closer to my own father as he received this prestigious award.

3) I find absolutely nothing more deplorable than the acceptance of the fallibility of man, though I admit it's incredibly discouraging to ascribe to this higher state of being when confronted with rampant imperfection.

4) I don't think our society is superficial enough. The relations between certain human beings perplexes me to no end. Perhaps we simply need to measure people's worth based on their physical beauty more often because this is obviously not the case as is.

5) Chew on that. As you can probably tell, I'm relatively annoyed at the moment but I am trying to stay as positive as possible. I'm only half-serious about the fourth point.
